One of the best houses I have stayed! Details are so important and this host thought of so many. There are so many seating areas to have great conversations. The views were wonderful and the beds were amazing.

Everything we needed was provided and the property exceeded our expectations.

5-Star Review: The Perfect Mountain Retreat for Families! We stayed at this incredible Mountain House in the Highlands over spring break with our four young kids (ages 2 to 8), and it was absolutely magical from start to finish. The property itself is stunning—peaceful, beautifully maintained, and that stream running through it? A dream come true for our children. They spent hours each day splashing, exploring, and making memories. Location-wise, it couldn’t be better. You get all the serenity of a mountain escape with the convenience of nearby shops and restaurants. The house is thoughtfully designed and very spacious—more than enough room for two large families. Every detail is high-end and comfortable, but the highlights? The master bathroom tub, where all four of our kids piled in each evening for what became their favorite part of the day. And the kitchen—wow. I’ve owned multiple restaurants throughout my career, and cooking here was an absolute treat. The stove is professional-grade and made meal prep a true pleasure. Also, as a restaurant owner, I cannot recommend Highlands Tavern enough. The customer service there is out of this world, and the food absolutely blew me away. It was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. If you’re considering a trip to the Highlands with your family, do yourself a favor and stay here. It’s everything you could hope for in a mountain getaway and more. We’re already dreaming of our next visit.

Spent a long weekend with 7 friends at the end of Spring Break. Once you get to this house, your blood pressure drops tremendously. The grounds are beautiful, especially with the creek running by so close. While the pictures on this site are nice, they really don’t do the property justice. The various sitting areas both inside and out are comfortable and relaxing. Bedrooms with private bathrooms were very comfortable. While Highlands has a lot of good restaurants, we ended up eating in 2 of the 3 nights. And why not? The kitchen is professional grade and there is plenty of space for the whole group to gather. Dusty’s store is less than a mile up the road and had everything we needed for our dinners. Only regret is that we didn’t get to stay longer.

Highlands Farmhouse is a charming home that was spacious enough for our family to spend a wonderful week together including our 2 furry family members. Sitting on the porch listening to the creek was so peaceful. The location is perfect for experiencing downtown Highlands and driving to several hiking spots. Everything we expected and more. We will definitely stay here again!

What an amazing home! I’ve been visiting the Highlands/Cashiers area each year for over 40 years and have rented many homes over the years. This one I will be coming back to again and again! The upscale farmhouse is extremely comfortable and easy to live in. It provides everything you would expect in a mountain get away! A great family room with an incredible fireplace, a fabulous kitchen with all the amenities and a sun porch that provides the perfect place for getting comfy with a good book. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and each has its own bathroom. This house would be great for a single family, several couples or even multiple families. It is convenient to town so shopping, dining and even groceries are convenient. We are planning a trip back to the house in the fall and look forward to many stays here!
